GLEN DEVON PRIMARY SCHOOL NO. 4914
STUDENT DRESS CODE POLICY STATEMENT
RATIONALE
The Glen Devon Primary School Council has established a dress code for all students attending our school. All students are expected to wear our school uniform and adhere to our school’s dress code, unless an exemption has been made by our Principal.
GOALS
§ To eliminate competitiveness in dressing and reduce the costs to parents for school clothing
§ To help promote our students’ sense of belonging and pride in our school
§ To encourage student self-discipline and preparation for the future - as dress and safety codes apply to most occupations and social activities
§ To encourage equity among students by reducing peer pressure
§ To support safety procedures regarding the identification of students during activities outside the school (e.g., excursions, sports, etc.)
